go green（ゴー・グリーン）

1995年、BassのKenjiを中心にDrums、Guitarの３ピースバンドとして結成。その後Kenjiのソロユニット形態にシフトする。４トラックのカセットレコーダーに始まり、現在のコンピュータによるハードディスクレコーディングに至るまで、宅録によるレコーディングの可能性に挑みながら、パワフル／グルーヴィーなリズム、クランチーなギター、漂うメロディーによって紡ぎ出される作品を発表している。東京を拠点としながらネット上で海外へ活動範囲を広げ、2002年には当時米国で最大級の音楽ウェブサイトであったmp3.comのWorld Chart（Power Pop部門）で最高28位となる。同年にmp3.comより1stアルバム「From Apple To Pepper」をリリース（現在はiTunes Storeにて発売中）。その後は活動の停止、再開を繰り返しつつ、作品の歌詞は英語を使う割合が増える。2008年、それまで停止していたライブ活動を東京で再開。１人でレコーディングしたバックトラックをiPodから再生しつつ、エレキ／アコースティックギターとヴォーカルで演奏するスタイルで「スタンドアロン型ロックバンド」と評される。2009年、英国のUK Songwriting Contestにて２曲がSemi-Finalistランクに入選（Fantastic Bloom、Baby Smiley Smile）。2010年10月に2ndアルバム「Floating on the Edge」をリリース。2015年7月、シングル「僕が壊れてく寸前のように」をリリース。2016年3月、シングル「無限ループで逆行」をリリース。

 

go green

Formed in 1995 as a trio rock band in Tokyo and a few years later shifted to Kenji’s solo recording project, sometimes with guest players. Almost all of the tracks are produced in a small apartment room in Tokyo, go green pursues the possibilities of so-called “bedside recording” by powerful rhythms, crunchy guitars and floating melodies. In 2008, go green has restarted the live shows in Tokyo. Kenji plays with acoustic/electric guitars and pre-self-recorded back tracks on iPod. That performance is sometimes described as a “stand-alone rock band”. In 2009, 2 songs of go green received “Semi-Finalist” status at “UK Songwriting Contest” on the songs “Baby Smiley Smile” and “Fantastic Bloom”.
